CUMAC helps feed people and change lives. It works to alleviate hunger and its root causes for those in need in Passaic County, and northern New Jersey.
In 1985, CUMAC was incorporated as the Center of United Methodist Aid to the Community Ecumenically Concerned Helping Others (CUMAC/ECHO) – a name meant to show that while we are an urban mission of the United Methodist Church, we serve all people in need without discrimination.

We at the First United Methodist Church of Passaic have had a long tradition of supporting CUMAC through our food donations, however in the last year or so, our donations of non-perishable food has dropped off. Please, let’s get back to bringing in weekly at least one non-perishable food item for our donation to CUMAC. If everybody at our church can do that weekly, that makes a full basket of food being sent each week by our church to CUMAC. Remember, hunger never takes a break for many families. Please bring in what you can.
